Donald Trump Urges Microsoft To Fire Lisa Monaco Over National Security Concerns

Must read

Former President Donald Trump has publicly urged Microsoft Corp. to terminate Lisa Monaco, the company’s president of global affairs, marking the latest escalation in his ongoing campaign against former government officials he views as political adversaries.

Donald Trump has long criticized Lisa Monaco, who served as U.S. deputy attorney general under President Joe Biden, accusing her of leveraging that role to pursue investigations into his conduct. In March, Trump revoked Monaco’s security clearances and access to classified information, a move he cited in his Friday statement to argue that she should be removed from her post at Microsoft.

“Her position at Microsoft gives her access to Highly Sensitive Information,” Donald Trump said. “She is a menace to U.S. National Security, especially given the major contracts that Microsoft has with the United States Government. It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco.”

Lisa Monaco joined Microsoft earlier this year, with her role publicly reported in June. The company has not yet issued a response to Trump’s call for her dismissal.

The demand comes just a day after the U.S. Department of Justice indicted former FBI Director James Comey, highlighting the former president’s continued efforts to seek retribution against government officials he claims have acted against him.

Political analysts say Donald Trump’s actions reflect his ongoing strategy of targeting former officials who played roles in investigations or decisions that affected him politically, raising questions about the intersection of government service, private-sector roles, and partisan disputes.

Lisa Monaco a seasoned legal and security expert, has previously served in top positions within the Department of Justice and the Homeland Security Council, earning a reputation for navigating complex national security and law enforcement matters.

As Donald Trump continues to publicly challenge figures like Lisa Monaco and Comey, observers note that the broader implications for corporate governance and U.S. national security contracts remain uncertain.
